Although Swift is steadily gaining traction and credibility amongst developers, some still have trouble with believing in Swift’s ability when it comes to serverless. This uncertainty is expected since Swift is still a very new language and is not as established and supported as other languages such as Python or frameworks like Node.JS. For this, most Swift developers continue to depend on other languages and platforms for their backend and server-side needs, and have not taken the time to try out the concept of server-side Swift. In this session, we’ll be exploring breaking the ice and warming cold feet about server-side Swift, and even walk thru the process of building a serverless app using the popular web framework, Vapor. Topics will include: 1) Swift vs. Your favorite backend language, 2) Benefits of Swift End-to-End, 3) An Intro to Vapor, 4) Building a Serverless App with Swift
